Hanna Burgess, Stylist

Hanna Burgess is originally from Rayville, La. (pronounced Rayvul, not Ray-ville) and in 2012 decided to move to Lafayette to be closer to her nephews, who are her best friends.

After many years of sitting at a desk, Hanna took a leap of faith at 29 and decided to go to Cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute of Lafayette in 2015, giving her a chance to express her creative side.

From the moment she was behind the chair, she fell in love with the art of blonding, especially Beachy blondes and lived-in blonde. She has spent many hours learning new techniques, either virtually or in-person. Just recently she attended a class in Dallas called the Battle of The Blondes vs. The Brunettes, where she was not only able to pick up new blonding techniques but also some for her brunette girls.

One of her favorite things about being a hairstylist is the relationships she has formed with the people that sit in her chair. She truly loves hearing peoples life stories.

She is a lover of a lot of things, but if she had to pick just 5 they would be, in no particular order…

1. her dog, Olive

2. watching her nephews play sports

4. her family

5. queso/Diet Dr. Pepper (both deserve to be recognized)
